An IDPA scoring app that scores points down properly

Points down, procedural errors, hits on non-threat, failure to neutralise and FTDR — scored the way IDPA scores them, with results placed on total time.

Points down is not hit factor with different labels

This is where general-purpose scoring apps tend to get IDPA wrong. IDPA does not divide points by time. Time is the score: raw time plus half a second per point down, plus penalties. A tool built around hit factor that bolts IDPA on afterwards usually gets the placing right and the arithmetic wrong, which holds up until somebody checks.

Striker scores IDPA the way IDPA is scored — points down accumulating onto time, with matches placed on summed total time rather than on a points ratio.

The penalties, by name

  • PE — procedural error.
  • HNT — hit on a non-threat.
  • FTN — failure to neutralise.
  • FP — flagrant penalty.
  • FTDR — failure to do right.

Each is entered per shooter per stage and carries its own time cost into the stage result. The score entry screen shows IDPA's own captions, because the zone labels come from the discipline on the event rather than from a generic A/C/D template borrowed from IPSC.

Results placed on time

Because IDPA is time-scored, the match standings are a sum of stage times, not an average of ratios. Striker places time-scored matches on summed time — the same treatment applied to Steel Challenge and 3-Gun, which have the same property.

Results break down per stage as well as overall, and placings compute per division and class, which in IDPA is the comparison that actually matters to a shooter.

Running the match

Registration, squadding, stages and officials are set up in the same place as the scoring. Shooters sign up, choose a division, and pay entry fees through the club's own Stripe account. Scores are entered on a phone at the bay and publish live, so standings are visible during the match.

Bringing a club's history across

Striker imports PractiScore match files (.psc) and match URLs, and exports results to PractiScore format and to a PDF report.

What it costs

Running matches is free: registration, squadding, scoring, live results and the club member registry. Striker Pro is a personal subscription for individual shooters adding run video, the training library and the Pro assistant — not required to run a match or to shoot one.
